i don't know what tomorrow brings, it's alive with such possibilities

last summer conor oberst announced that in 2010 he would retire bright eyes (i know, i know, can i get you a tissue?). last summer it seemed like a lifetime away but now that 2o1o is almost upon us it's time to face reality. although the album is slated for a fall release i am already anticipating both the new music and tour. conor oberst & the mystic valley band and the monsters of folk are both fantastic bands but there is something magical about the first listen of a new bright eyes record. and the second. and the third. if you haven't had the opportunity to fall in love with a bright eyes song or record, now would be the best time. as a final record means a final tour, you will not have many opportunities to see this amazing band much longer.

happy birthday @megroro!!

some of you have been wondering when i might post my next blog and/or what would constitute something important enough to even blog about, and this date is certainly it, although megan's birthday is actually tomorrow.

i have no clue who this guy is, but he likes meg! and if he likes meg, i like him. and when i google image searched "happy birthday megan" this guy and a sign from a coffee shop came up, so i chose this guy to help celebrate another candle on the cake for my friend and yours, miss megan romero.

please join me tomorrow in saying happy birthday to a gal i call my friend, my confidant, my sentence and sandwich finisher and someone i hope to spend many more birthdays with!

a fond farewell to a friend

due to unfortunate circumstances (website blocked at work) i will not be able to keep up my daily (ok, semi daily) blog anymore. i know, i know. it's pretty tragic. you may be asking yourself why i can't blog from home and the answer is this. the answer is that i can't get anything done at home. unless my to do list includes playing with steve, eating a block of cheese, or watching jeopardy!, it's pretty hard for me to accomplish anything when i'm at my apartment and i'm just not here very much to begin with. that being said, i won't completely stop blogging, i will try to update every once in a while and keep you informed of my shenanigans, but it certainly won't be as constant and reliable as you, my adoring readers, have come to count on.

i'm filling in for lucia at work today so it seemed appropriate in my downtime to dedicate today to something wedding related, no lucia's not getting married (not now anyway, but hopefully one day soon) she's just obsessed with weddings . our mutual friend, we'll call her "ellen," got engaged on a recent trip to italy (i know, right!) and now she's in the process of selecting her dream dress. ellen, like me, loves all of the designers and couture her heart can handle, yet i have a feeling she won't be a fan of these shiteous designer gowns i found. take your pick ellen, they're all for you! i present: the ugliest f-ing wedding gowns i've ever seen!

she broke twitter. as if her accent, music, fame, and clothing line weren't enough, she deleted her twitter yesterday and her annoying 13 year old fans went into a frenzy and broke my favorite site. where the fuck am i going to get news from!? how will i communicate with my internet friends? heaven forbid i use the facebook status update.
my twitter hasn't updated in 3 hours. who knows whats been happening in the world in the last 3 hours and now i will never know.

beard me.

a few weeks ago joe emailed me the website for the world beard championships and i thought it was the funniest/coolest thing i'd seen and never heard of. cut to friday night when my lucky stars (aka joe) brought me to the same party that jack passion, two time winner/current world beard champion, was attending. jack was super nice and not annoyed by my enthusiastic beard questions! he's been growing the beard for 6 years and has won at the beard championships twice. he's written a book "the facial hair handbook," he frequents the talk show circuit and has basically made a career out of having a really long, well maintained beard.
if you see him around (he's from dub c, what what) make sure to say hi and give some beard props!
